Our schizophrenic government.

While simultaneously telling us that we need to move and eat better with that oh-so-engaging and easy to understand food pyramid, the feds are supporting policies that promote fatty and poorly nutritious foods. (see also, Why does a salad cost more than a big mac?) Of course they’re doing this behind the public’s back. All relationships depend on trust. If someone says one thing, and does another, well, that trust is surely lacking.

They’re making it easier and easier for the obese to get high calorie food while telling us we shouldn’t eat high calorie food. Of course the obvious reason is that our government’s primary interest is the almighty dollar, not our waist lines.

It’s sad to think that we’ve got to protect our health from our government’s policies. What happened to change we can believe in?
