A really great friend of mine, Dr. Katie Malbon, has a fascinating program called “Text in the City” she’s built to help teens who see her in her free sexual health clinic get answers to questions once they leave the clinic. Many times, teens won’t want to ask certain questions in person due to embarrassment or they simply forgot to ask a question about birth control or what have you. So Katie set up a program where they can text in their question and get answers. The kind of help Katie has been able to deliver has been unprecedented. Unfortunately, funding for this kind of program is limited because it’s for kids in low income families. So I urged her to try and get funding through the Pepsi Refresh Project.
Please vote for Dr. Katie’s project. She’s an amazing woman doing remarkable things for kids in need. Follow along on her blog about the project here.
