Redesigning Health at Gov 2.0

I’m on my way to DC to talk about what government can do to create a platform for an efficiently run healthcare system. As Jeff Jarvis says, we need less government in cyberspace and more freedom. I’m going to talk about how government should be setting technology standards for both doctor and patient profiles which then enables applications to access profiles and provide services. Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to do a kayak.com-like search to find the nearest doctor available in 2 hours with an H1N1 vaccine in stock? But healthcare exists in physical and technological silos. The only thing connecting them is you. Therefore, you must be the primary owner and controller of your profile and data. Don’t forget to watch live at 2:50 pm eastern. Anil Dash comes almost directly after me. I’m sure he’ll be a good one to watch as well.
