Just spoke to grades 5-8 at The Academy for Scholarship and Enterpreneurship in the Bronx. These kids are awesome!

Their first questions:

  • How does Tumblr make money? (Seriously?! You’re 13…)
  • Are you rich?
  • Do you know Tom from MySpace?

The last kid to talk to me was 2.5 feet tall, and asked if he could “really make websites too”. I’m starting to appreciate why my mom’s a teacher.

Creating easy to use platforms like tumblr that enable people of all ages to publish quickly, easily, and from anywhere is one of the most important uses of technology in our culture. Hats off to all of you behind tumblr.
