Let’s get the terminology right…

Please stop calling this healthcare reform. It’s health insurance reform. There’s a huge difference. Healthcare reform would have tried to solve two things at once:

  1. How we pay for care.
  2. How we deliver care.

Health insurance reform simply changes who writes the check for the same poorly distributed, inefficient, backwards, painfully inconvenient, profit-driven care with a business model carefully designed to encourage skyrocketing costs.

Is it a handout to the industry who crafted it together with Congress or is it “what change looks like.” Read through the following deck from George Halvorson, the CEO of Kaiser Permanente, and decide for yourself:
