Recession’s Emerging Credo – Do More, Buy Less

This has to be a good thing:

Quietly but noticeably over the past year, Americans have rejiggered their lives to elevate experiences over things…Psychologists have been saying for years that shared experiences like vacations lead to more long-term happiness than the latest bauble.

This has been my mantra for the past few years. I hardly buy things. Of course, I have my vices– photography things and clothes, but that’s about it. I live simply. And if I don’t use something over the course of 2 weeks, I don’t need it and either give it away or sell it on craigslist. When people visit my apartment, people often ask if I just moved in. Nope, I just live simply and buy experiences over things:

By the way, I’m off to Munich on Monday to visit a friend. Posting may be light next week.
