The last time I spoke with Bill Clinton was in 8th grade in an airplane hangar at the St. Louis airport when he was first campaigning for president. He reached over me to shake someone’s hand in the crowd behind me. He looked at me and said “excuse me.”

And today, I just got an email from his camp with these words.

He is, and will always be, one of my heroes. I am humbled and honored.
