After completing a residency in pediatrics and one in preventive medicine at Johns Hopkins, I started a practice for my neighborhood of Williamsburg, Brooklyn in September 2007. People would visit my website; see my Google calendar; choose a time and input their symptoms; my iphone would alert me; I would make a house call; they'd pay me via Paypal; and we'd follow up by email, IM, videochat, or in person.

Fast Company calls me The Doctor of the Future. I've got a design and consulting firm called The Future Well. Read more about me here.

  • I’m down in DC at the Department of Health and Human Services Health Policy Forum where there are about 50 of America’s thought leaders on disruptive healthcare. Jason Hwang is currently speaking. He’s the co-author, along with Clayton Christensen, of a new book called The Innovator’s Prescription: A Disruptive Solution for Health Care that will come out in January. Ben Sasser, the Assistant Secretary of Health, just announced that the projections for Medicare Part A funding were wrong. The Department figured out last week that Part A funding will be bankrupt prior to the end of Obama’s second term. What does this mean? In 2016, a hospital will submit a bill to Medicare and Medicare will simply have no money to pay. This is all within the next 8 years folks. Get ready for some serious problems.
