After completing a residency in pediatrics and one in preventive medicine at Johns Hopkins, I started a practice for my neighborhood of Williamsburg, Brooklyn in September 2007. People would visit my website; see my Google calendar; choose a time and input their symptoms; my iphone would alert me; I would make a house call; they'd pay me via Paypal; and we'd follow up by email, IM, videochat, or in person.

Fast Company calls me The Doctor of the Future. I've got a design and consulting firm called The Future Well. Read more about me here.

  • My solution to the beginning of changing healthcare.

    For god’s sake…DISBAND THE RUC.

    NOW.

Healthcare will not change unless current national reimbursement policies are not changed, but destroyed.

From it’s ashes, create a new RUC composed of another 29 physicians.  Those 29 physicians will be mainly composed of primary care doctors with specialists in the minority according to actual healthcare usage in the United States.  If the total number of healthcare visits in the US are 75% primary care visits, 75% of the docs on the RUC should be primary care docs.
